GRO-WELL® SALADS

We have been growing salads in the fertile Lancashire countryside since the 1970s.
We are a family run business who pride ourselves on our meticulous attention to detail and our commitment to continually research new products and tastes.
 

Although we are probably best known for our Salad Cress we also market a growing range of other products including Little Gem Lettuce and Pea Shoots (which we grow ourselves), Cos Lettuce which are grown for us by a local farmer, and also Beansprouts and Prepared Salad which are grown and packed for us.

We are able to deliver our products into most areas of the country by working closely with several well established local hauliers.

We firmly believe that by using outside transport (rather than running our own vehicles) we are able to keep our costs down and minimise the ‘food miles’ of our products.

The company was started at our current Blackgate Lane site in 1973 by Maurice and Pauline Fletcher, whose original vision was to establish a small holding supplying the local wholesale markets with flat lettuce and other salad vegetables.

Gro-Well is now run by their children, brother and sister team Russell and Pam, who continue to develop the business through investment and innovation.
